Artist’s Reflection:

“Three hundred seconds. Practically an eternity when you’ve got somewhere to be.

There’s something funny to me about the way we measure time. Five minutes sounds urgent, but three hundred seconds? Plenty of time to finish a chapter, have another thought, or simply do absolutely nothing.

This piece is a little celebration of that absurdity. Of being entirely unbothered when perhaps you should be anything but.

I’ve also been exploring the relationship between pattern and form, allowing repetition, colour and line to give structure to otherwise soft and fluid shapes. There’s a push and pull between the flat and the dimensional, the carefully considered and the completely nonsensical.

Much like the woman herself, I’m not particularly interested in everything behaving exactly as it should.”
