Artist’s Reflection:
“I’ve been unexpectedly grateful for these figures.
They’ve become a container for exploring so many of the questions that keep finding me. Some pieces are about connection. Others about boundaries, identity, memory, or the stories we inherit and the ones we choose to rewrite.
This one felt different.
Instead of adding layers, I found myself removing them.
Peeling everything back until only the essential remained. Before the roles. Before the labels. Before the history. Before the narrative.
Just a vessel moving through the world.
Somewhere along the way, I realized how much of what I believed about myself had been inherited. Opinions accepted as facts before I had the tools or wisdom to discern them for myself.
This piece became a quiet reminder that so much of who we think we are is accumulated over time, and that there is incredible freedom in returning to what has always been underneath.”
