Artist’s Reflection:

“I believe that artists are a lot like gardeners. “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow” as Hepburn so aptly put it.

Where our attention goes our energy flows and I feel that we’re all in our respective stages of grief in a world that is not at all what we were sold or told it would be.

Some of us are denying it, others are angry, a few still bargaining, a lot are depressed, and some have accepted it. I think a lot of artists are really observant. As a neurodivergent person I am keen on recognizing patterns. Sadly, none of this comes as a surprise to me. After seeing how covid played out I knew we would collectively see more dark before we saw the light. And while all the stages are natural I think it’s crucial to realize that most artists aren’t in the denial stage, they’re observing life and have come to accept it.

And not only that but they are choosing to create anyway, because something has to replace the empire that’s falling and why shouldn’t it be a world of beauty, of art, of observation, of life that moves with the speed of nature, and places our hearts on our sleeves (or in our case on a canvas) for all to see.

I think each painting is akin to planting a seed of hope and collecting them is like bringing home a beautiful bouquet to remind you to celebrate life and hope there are many more celebrations to come.”

This 20" x 20" painting is finished with a coat of protective varnish and arrives ready to hang straight out of the box.
