“This piece is about composure.

About the kind of power that does not need to announce itself. The kind that settles into the body slowly, after you have burned through the noise.

When I painted her, I kept thinking about what it feels like to sit fully inside yourself. Not performing. Not bracing. Not trying to be chosen.

The gold feels earned to me. Not flashy. More like something that grew over time. The blue lines trace what runs underneath it all, the current that is always there whether anyone sees it or not.

I think this is a chapter change painting. The moment where you stop reaching and realize you are already standing exactly where you need to be.”
