"Look-Alike" Framed Print on Canvas

from $82.00

Artist Reflection:

"This piece started with a simple observation that always makes me smile: given enough time, pets and their people start to resemble each other.

Not just in appearance, but in energy. The way they sit, the way they watch the world, the quiet understanding between them.

In this painting the figure and the dog share the same movement, the same curve through the water, almost like two reflections of the same spirit. One human, one animal, but clearly belonging to the same strange little universe.

I’ve always loved the idea that companionship slowly shapes us. The beings we spend our time with leave little echoes in our posture, our expressions, our rhythms. As someone who believes strongly in rescue and adoption (and who has been lucky enough to welcome a rescue dog into our own family), that bond feels especially meaningful.

This painting was originally created as a donation for the Placencia Humane Society, where it generously raised $10,600 in silent auction to support the care and protection of animals in the community. It felt like the most fitting home for a piece about the deep, slightly magical bond between people and their animals."
